    Morais says he’s already succeeded

Jose Morais believes he has 'already succeeded' at Barnsley and says any discussions of his future are on hold until the relegation-threatened club's final match of the season in Derby on Sunday.

Morais has won three of his 14 matches as head coach of the Reds, losing seven and drawing four, since signing an 18-month contract in February. He has a better points-per-game ratio this season for Barnsley than the man he replaced, Paul Heckingbottom, who joined Leeds United.

Morais told the Chronicle: "I think I have succeeded already, doing what I have done with the players that we have. I already feel happiness to have helped the team to achieve a certain standard and level of performance that they did not have before."

Chief executive Gauthier Ganaye said last week that Morais' 'only mission' was to keep the Reds in the division, hinting that his job could be under threat should Barnsley be relegated to League One. A win at Derby County would keep them up while a draw or loss might be enough depending on other results.

Asked if he wanted to be at Barnsley next season, he said: "I want to be here for the next game and then I want to speak to the people at the club, and talk about possibilities. I love the club, the people and the support I have had. May God help us stay in the league then we will have the opportunity to discuss our options. I am focusing on preparing for the Derby game. I want to see the players and the fans smiling after the game then a lot of possibilities will exist. Before that, it is just speculation."
Asked if the job of keeping Barnsley in the Championship has been more difficult than he expected, Morais said: "No. I don't think the job is hard because I have the knowledge and experience and will and belief that things are possible. What I have been doing here is to change the mindset which was, in a certain way, more negative than I thought. But I am happy with the job that I did.

"It is two and a half months since I came here. I believe in miracles but sometimes they don't happen in the time that we want. But one day they will happen.
There is a lack of consistency from the beginning of the season. I have only been here two and a half months and I am trying to do my best."

Does he really mean and believe this weird stuff hes coming out with ?.
Hes done well if he keeps us up and it will have been against the odds. But I still think that better and more sensible coaching from him would have had us out of this mess a few weeks ago.

"God help us" sums it up.

Points per game Heckingbottom W6 D10 L15---0.903ppg from 31 games
    -------------------=Morais W3 D4 L7--0.928ppg from 14 games
All down to last game as to better ppg. A win takes Morais to 1.066, a draw 0.933, a defeat 0.866 ppg

We didn't need a miracle , the teams at the bottom are cr@p .

All we needed were some solid players in the window to go with McBurnie and Moore and we wouldn't be in this situation .

Feckin hell Flickers mob needed 55 points to stay up on goal difference .

Now that was a fecking miracle .

Exactly Banker, hes talking already isnt he about succeeding when we're STILL seriously in the mire, and are still one of the two favourites to go down this weekend. Im struggling to know where or why hes already succeeded.

Full of shyte coaches like this acido , all talk with not much to back it up with .

He's ridden the Mourihno wave , back office man licking the stamps , put him at the sharp end and it's a different story .

Not many liked what Keef and Hecky told you but they were right and didn't try conning you .

I'd sooner have it straight myself , I might not like it and I might not agree with it but it's better than Mourhino's cone bytch thinking he's pillocking us .

You have to get up very early to kid the folk of this town .

That's right, HE'S succeeded. Well someone needs to tell him its about the club, not his personal record he took the job, fairly sure there wasn't a "relegation bonus" mentioned when he sold himself into the job.

Relegation from this league, deserved or not, aint some flippant nothin oh well sort o thing. Flamin kids al be roorin town will be gutted and we wont be happy hearing "oh I've succeeded" from him.

Ready to pounce all time. I agree with Morais under Hecky we were negative and it was stale. Under Morais at least we've had a go. Whilst results haven't improved at least the players (barring Foest and Millwall) have put a shift in. If we go darn then fair enough get rid.

But match is tomorrow. Spout di sh1te tomorrow if we go down. Then have thi inquisition.

    Mind boggles.
