    O/T New Star Wars.

Interested on peoples thoughts on the films?

My thoughts are that the first one was a poor remake of the original film and the last jedi was one of the worst films I've ever seen.

Not qualified to judge myself. The other day I actually met someone who like me has never seen a single Star Wars film or episode of Star Trek. Until then I thought I was a one off

If you compare them to the others they do seem to be lacking the creativity the other 6 had.

I’m glad the hero’s a woman but I don’t like her characters personally she just seems too angry to be a Jedi and the empire falls in revenge of sith only for some Alian guy to pick up where Sith Lord left off. Wtf

No I’d have sooner had it jump 200 years and had it start with the Jedis teaching padwans on what happened to the empire and then start a new original story

Going the same way as Doctor Who.

Actors parachuted in because of their race or gender with no regard to whether they can act or not.

Grist you can post some very funny stuff on here at times but is there any chance that you could reply to threads without feeling the need to indulge in gratuitous political snidery?

It was overly PC and had that bizarre anti-capitalist subplot.

It's Hollywood/ the BBC who have to put messages in everything instead of just delivering entertainment.

    The subplot was certainly bizarre.

And ye the Empire stopped using clones for some reason, It's explained somewhere either books or the tv series.

There's some good actors in the films, the problem is their characters are very poorly written, especially the women.

Rogue One was dark for a Star Wars film with decent story and good characters that fit. It's a shame about the main films so I've not bothered watching the latest film.
