Now the transfer window has shut. I can't see what influence the men behind the scenes have. I'd fully expect Stendel to keep the team playing well until january at least. Then I'll start looking more closely at what Beene and Co are up to.

Looks like he's at it again with his two bob budget and defying the odds .
Currently second in their division 3 wins behind the leaders The Houston Astro's however they look well placed to grab one of the wild card spots going in to the play offs .
Good news if you ask me and he's got his baseball mojo back , keeps him busy and away from us .
Hope they make the world series and extend his interest in to late october .
Go A's .

In a tight race with the NY Yankees for a wild card spot apparently .
Operating with the smallest budget in the MLB @ $68.53m this compares with the highest @ $235.65m enjoyed by the Boston Red Sox .
So doing well in all honesty after a good number of poor seasons .
Watched the movie and from what i gather, is that Billy Bob Bean had a star player at the club and that he carried the lesser players brought in by him for most of the season and thus the star player created that winning feeling that Billly's teams have not had since that inglorious season. Well up until now that is.
