    14th September 1968.

    Burnley 1 Man Utd 0.

A thirty yard thunderbolt from Brian O'Neil in the 90th minute was enough to beat the reigning European Champions.

At the time Burnley were in crisis - we had been beaten 7-0 by Spurs the previous week

    I was too Alf!

I was stood in the Bee Hole end and as soon as he hit it you knew it was in - even though it went into the Cricket Field end goal.

It was in the last minute so we knew we had won.

Our two Orient game goals were special too - but there seemed to be an eternity left in the game so we were left biting our nails until the final whistle.

Yes,I was in there too, right at the top and you are right ,as soon as it left his boot it had goal written all over it.. What a team Utd had out that day as well.

Great memories indeed. Paul Weller at Oldham, an unbelievable goal which ultimately helped keep us up.

Casper, Coates, Thomas, Lochhead and BT. How we miss that sort of goal scoring capability and quality now.
