    Boro’...same old problem.

Said what’s wrong too often to repeat it again, but can’t see Barlaser from Newcastle being the answer...doesn’t even seem to be a regular for Accrington Stanley.
Beyond that...would have taken four points from the last couple of games and Boro’ only had a couple of quarter hour spells in each half when they were the better side.
Thought the referee was useless...any time anyone felt like kicking Marriott seemed fine by him. Pity Nugent flunked that chance - as he did at the Riverside three months ago - but a draw was probably a fair result.

AR have to agree about the ref very poor Fair result i thought typical Pullis side physical. Okay to percentage game three at the back five in midfield and waiting for a corner or long throw He never changes successfull but boring Don't know how Marriott got MOM he never had a kick Thought Wisdom played well and Holmes did well in his cameo Evans had a decent game Poor old Bogle treading water after 70mins Just hope we can get a couple in I think we need a centre back and striker That was a bad miss by Nugent cost us two points He did the same against Brizzle heading over from three yards that day

Agree with that mista. Marriott certainly got a kick...from the Boro’ players, especially Saville, but got no real service. Pity the best chance fell to Nugent...Marriott would have put that away nine times out of ten but I don’t know how he got motm either.
Wisdom did do well but he’s always disadvantaged playing at left back and I agree about Evans but he - understandably - looked knackered after seventy minutes.
We’re still well in it but need a good window.

Thought Wisdom was one of our better players today. Also I didn't realise how slow Huddlestone was until today, I knew he was slow but the pace of his game when he came on tells me he's finished! He's just far to slow to play Championship footy! That's IMO anyway. Thought we were lucky to get a draw in the end.

MA Huddleston has played at that pace for the last 15yrs Remember it's better to stand in the right place than to run in the wrong place ha Not sure agree about a lucky point they did nothing Agree about Wisdom i thought he was our best player We still look like conceding

Agree about Wisdom but not about us being ‘lucky’. They missed one great chance...so did we. We had more possession...they had one more corner. We bossed it for the first twenty five minutes...they were on top either side of half time but the ‘assault’ on Marriott should have resulted in a red imo. Certainly shook him up but no real punishment for them. Would have been a game changer...always the same against Pulis’ teams...funny how many injuries we pick up against Boro’ and Stoke.
I’d have happily had players from Forest and Bristol City but, just as at the Riverside in October, the only one of Boro’s players I’d want is George Friend.

After the opening 10 minutes in which we passed our way through them, they got onto the same page as us and put their MF numerical advantage to good use. That left us with little option but to play the long ball game and our midget front 5 is no match for a typical Pulis 6 foot 3 defence/MF. That was how they started to play better and keep us under pressure.

I will now contradict myself a bit..... Holmes, another midget, should have replaced Wilson in a like for like change. He was fresh, tricky and unknown to Boro. Boro's lucky (the ball went in off Hugill's shoulder) equaliser started with Hudds losing the ball 25 yards from their goal..... two men on him and he never had the ball under control.

Nuge will be kicking himself for that late miss as will their player for the header straight at Carson for which I was very grateful.

Over the 90 a draw was a reasonable result with each team managing a meagre 2 shots on target. Not a lot from 2 sides hoping to make the playoffs or better.

The ref? Better than many we have had this season but still too many mistakes with the biggest being the decision not to red card Saville.

Wisdom had a very good game at LB and his series of crosses proved those saying he hasn't got a left foot wrong. Maybe having a proper LB on the bench was part of the reasoning........

Finally a word on Jozefzoon. I have been very critical of his last 3 appearances. This was much nearer the level he should be showing. Keep on improving lad.

The problems are there, but do we have enough to have a go? Top 6 teams out of the way, we could get a bit of luck and go on a run. We might just do it in the same way that QPR did to us, we don't need to be great, just do enough. Perhaps we could do with a battle-axe on loan to throw in against the physical sides?

Only 2 more games against top 6 sides to go, Leeds away on the 11th and then WBA at home, last day of the season. Provided we don't have our customary Jan/Feb/ March etc dip we surely have a great chance of making the playoffs at least.

Thought Wisdom played well yesterday more like his old self
Bogel for all his good work going forward , doesn't make up for his defending below the standard of the Championship
When Evans and Huddlestone on the pitch at the same time we had nothing going forward
    Holmes looked to improve things
Waghorn was dreadful as was Evans
I would bring in Sibley for Southampton
