When Mourinho first went to Chelsea he stated that he wanted to have or buy 22 players so that he could have two for each position. He stated thet he wanted so much quality that it would be difficult to say which of any two players was best in any one position.

I know that is a dream and even if we had a good owner who was wealthy enough to allow Rafa a bit of freedom to develop the squad it would take ages to bring it up to scratch.

It's too much to expect Mourinho's utopia but we should have enough decent back up so that any player in a position should be looking over his shoulder thinking his standby is a threat.

Rafa barely has a half a team of that quality nevermind two teams. It's going to take about five windows and a couple of hundred million to redress the fat bassards failures.

One for each position and a few left over would be lovely

    Yup.

Like being in a fight with both hands tied up, in a straight-jack and one leg broken.
