    Callum O’Hare

From the OS. Good signing as he has potential, but will he achieve if this season?

Carlisle United have today signed Aston Villa attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare on a loan deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until the end of the current season.

O’Hare, 20, came through the youth ranks at Villa Park and has been a regular on the first team bench through much of this campaign, most recently on Saturday when the Villains beat Ipswich Town on their own turf.

The highly-rated youngster has nine first appearances to his name already having appeared in four Championship fixtures last season. He was a starter this season for Villa’s FA Cup home game against Swansea City.

Manager Steven Pressley said: “As I said on Saturday, Callum is somebody I’ve seen a number of times because of my son’s connections with Villa.

“He’s a very good midfield player who likes to get forward, and he has a very attack-minded approach to the game.

“I think the fans will be excited by what they see of him, and this is a great chance for him to show everybody that he can have an impact with a team that is pushing for promotion.

“He’s played at Championship level for his parent club, and he’s extremely well thought of, so we think this is a very good signing for us.”

This deal remains subject to the clearance of all necessary paperwork.
