Motherwell's late charge floors St Johnstone

In the end Motherwell strolled to a 3-0 win over a poor St Johnstone side at sunny Fir Park. The visitors missed an early penalty and paid the price when a late surge saw Elliott Frear, David Turnbull and Richard Tait score the goals. - External Link

Great result from a pretty insipid game.

We always seem to lack a sense of composure and cutting edge in almost every first game we have due to an International break or break due to being already out of cups. The whole team first half yesterday looked lethargic and couldn’t pas the ball ten yards to a team mate. The old punt up the park was also very evident in the first hour of the match. The changes certainly made a difference, have to say felt Hastie gave his all even though he is leaving. Rumour mill at the game also seemed to indicate that Cadden’s May also be on his way out of the club, don’t knoe if anyone else on this site has heard anything,

The first half was a real slog. We were incredibly careless and a couple of corners apart created nothing.

I'd be amazed if Cadden stays, even with his slump pre-injury he's shown enough potential on and off that someone will surely take a chance on him on a 'free'.

The change away from 3-5-2 may just persuade him to stay another season if the perfect offer isn't there but I don't really see why he'd take that risk.
