A message from the off field staff

Notts County’s off-field staff have issued the following message on the eve of the new season.

With a very difficult summer now behind us and an exciting campaign on the horizon, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Neal Ardley, his staff and players the very best of luck at Eastleigh tomorrow and in the months ahead.

As Michael Doyle rightly said in his recent interview, the problems we have faced as a club have only served to bring everyone together. We are behind the lads all the way.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us, as staff, while we were not being paid. The fundraising efforts of our Official Supporters’ Association were incredible and the donation we received from Lifeline was very much appreciated – please sign up if you haven’t already.

Thank you, also, to Ilkeston Town and Nottingham Forest for their fundraising efforts and good luck to both clubs for the season ahead.

While we are of course relieved to have welcomed Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz to the club and are looking forward to the next chapter in our history, we should not forget about the troubles facing our colleagues at Bury, Bolton and other clubs experiencing financial difficulties. We stand in solidarity with them and wish for a happy conclusion.

Safe travels to everyone heading to Eastleigh and we look forward to hosting our first home game of the season when Stockport County visit Meadow Lane on Tuesday evening.

That actually sent a shiver up my spine! Amazing the way things have gone for us... we are very lucky indeed to be climbing out of this horrible mess that AH left us in.... I really hope Bolton and Bury can find a way to survive also... I know we can all understand how their fans are felling right now...

What a fabulous message from the Staff. To carry on as they did, not being paid for two months and not knowing if they would ever be paid or even have a job, they all deserve a massive show of thanks from the fans. It's early days and we all hope that the future will be more positive than the past decade but the job that the "off field staff" and Neal Ardley have done may have proved to be a turning point in our survival as I'm sure the new owners recognised their value to the club. Perhaps there should be a period of applause for all, including the new owners, on Tuesday. Thanks guy's

Hear, hear. Also an indication of a new culture of commitment and buy in from all within the club. From owners who spend their time getting the deal done and addressing the urgent matters of business necessary to get us to the starting line of this new season rather than publicly exercising their egos, to a manager clearly wracked with concern over dressing room culture and now able to put that right, to these magnificent members of staff who kept going no matter what, and to us supporters who loyally stick with our club because we love NCFC, let us hope that today seals the beginning of a new culture of progress in every aspect of the club!

    Amen

Are you from Bramley near Leeds? I wondered looking at your title or do you like cooking apples and are from Southwell
