    Defecting MP’s

    Absolutely disgusting and pathetic.

This should be stopped with legislation in the next parliament.

In my view,if you stand on a manifesto for a certain party then that should stand for the period of that parliament.

Anybody who wants to change party should be forced to resign on the spot and not allowed to take a seat as an MP until voters have voted them in.

In the intervening period before a bi election there “vote” should automatically be placed in favour of the party they stood for at election time.

The hypocrisy of people like Soubry,Umuna ( who’s on his third party this parliament and this lightweight who swopped to the Dib Lemmings today is breathtaking.

    It needs to be stopped.

I agree with that...I think it betrays the voters who put them in parliament....

We are being betrayed left right and centre by these so call servants of the people. Makes me laugh when their constituents voted one way or another. These idiots turn round and say “that even though my constituents voted one way, I believe that they trust me to make a decision that I believe is right for them and the country”.

I don't understand all this hand wringing regarding expelling Tory rebels. They deserve it. Why should we be bothered if the likes of Soames, Hammond, Clarke etc. have been deselected. Let's be honest, Soames' grandfather Winston Churchill will be turning in his grave at his grandson's action of turning his back on his own party.

The majority of voters cast their vote for a political party not an individual candidate. Therefore if a M.P. wants to switch parties there should be a bi election in said candidate's constituency allowing the people to vote again. I vote for individuals in council elections but not in Parliamentary ones.

My local MP is Nicholas Soames a confirmed Remainer and one of the 21 deselected. How can it be right that this man who I helped vote in has gone against the Party on such a fundemental issue? If he was allowed to stand at the upcoming election how could I vote for anyone that would represent my views.

    Soames the Remainer?
Labour and get Corbyn et al? (shudder)
    Lib Dems and Remain?
    Brexit and risk getting Corbyn?
Monster Raving Loony Party? Right now seems the most appropriate!

These people have to go from The Tory Party now.

On a personal I note I've seen Mr Soames a few times but never met him. I have however spoken to local Tory members, business men and policemen who have had dealings with him and none of them have a good word for him (check out his Wickipedia page for confirmation of his character.)

How about this for hypocracy from Corbyn. He has been extolling the vurtues of last night's result by stating that we do not have a President, we have a Prime Minister and rule democratically. This coming from someone who wants to get rid of the monarchy and become a republic. If we did become a republic, what would we have? A president. This man is unbelievable.
