Near relegation. Jevani Brown a player with the skills of a Barcelona player, recently joined Colchester because his contract was up in terms of being able to sign for someone else.

Colchester pinching a Cambridge player is unheard of. In the picking order, we look down on Colchester, but we cant compete with their money. Any player with talent will go over night, three went in the last 18 months. The team doesn't need to be a success.
The consequences are that its all pointless. A Cambridge development team recently lost to Soham in the Cambs cup.

Every Cambridge team is a development team, from the under fives, to the first team. Fans are effectively financing the first teams of better off clubs. Success is impossible. Chelsea took two eight year olds two years ago.

As for Jevani Brown, he had the skills of an angel, but couldn't pass tackle, or run. He was a lazy primadonna. Hence he signs for a div 2 club. Further evidence Cambridge is a dead end club.

    Like Carlisle.

The future is dead. I wont be poring money into the coffers of Colchester United or Forest Green, or Accrington. Unless a club has a rich backer you can forget it.

Richard and Karen Carpenter. (Goodbye to love), or in my case goodbye to football.

The Carlisle United team is at the moment in such splendid form, with a perpetually match fit reserve team doing equally well, that we can well withstand the loss of several key players because we have a squad bulging with formidable talent.

Or not, Les. I’ll go for 22nd if Pressley stays, 18th if he’s replaced.

Oh, and good post Frank. You could have been talking about us.

Do you have a rich owner?, if you don't then I am talking about you. Cambridge have a rich owner, but not rich enough, he will cover losses of half a million per year.

He has told the manager that he will have to generate extra cash by getting folk in through the gate, which means getting a winning team, which wont happen because we sell our best players. There is a news item in the evening paper about 500 free tickets have been snapped up by students for tonights home game.

We have a hard core of about 4,000, that is now 3,500 or less. The board always panic when gates drop. This club will survive, as we always have, just, its been close at times.

We will survive, so that Cambridge folk can turn up at the Abbey and watch struggling, boring hopeless dross. When there is a promise of something better, the something better will be transferred. My spot at the Abbey tonight will be empty, unless Joe Bloggs is there.

Ive had enough. Ive saved about a hundred quid by not going, there are 500 odd like me. One quick solution off the top of my head is that contracts are honoured, if you sign a two year contract with Cambridge or Carlisle, you honour it, even if Man u or Barcelona and ten other clubs are lining up.

Transfers should be out lawed, players must honour contracts, that way little clubs can develop teams.

Honouring contracts? Maybe when we’re out of the EU, eh?

If our lot gave away free tickets I would still consider it to be lamentably poor value.
