Why was it pathetic? Why are clubs and federations punished for the actions of a few idiots?
Should Yeovil have been slung out of the FA Cup because of what happened at Haringey?

I’m not saying I have strong opinions on any of those questions, but there always seems a quick reaction of criticising the football authorities when these punishments are handed down.

Pathetic because limited penalties allowed to be given out haven’t been addressed/changed for years and fining clubs/countries thousands of pounds and making them play in empty stadiums just isn’t punishment enough.

Persistent abusers should receive a ban from all major competitions for a certain length of time.
EUFA didn't hesitate to ban English clubs from European cups when our fans caused trouble. They didn't just ban the teams that caused
The trouble but the innocent ones also.

Agree with the ban for persistent abusers.

Don’t agree that “our fans caused trouble” is on the same level as racist abuse.

Whilst racist chanting should not be tolerated. It is far different to 39 dead and 600 injured at Heysel.

The principal is the same. We shouldn't have to wait till the racist chanting turns into violence. The answer is - filter some army types with big clubs and bibles in amongst them! Seriously though folks, so long as these morons keep buying their tickets all we'll get is crocodile tears.

    I haven’t said the principle isn’t. I said the level isn’t.

UEFA were quite lenient with the UK. We had hooliganism issues for a long time before any action was taken. And it took Heysel to do that.

People shouldn’t have to die for action to be taken, but comparing the two and saying UFEA didn’t hesitate isn’t really apples and apples is it?
