    Both full backs today...

    ...were poor.
A disappointing performance from them both which could have been cataclysmic. On the positive side, Gibbo is clearly ready to return and presumably Fergie is available ?
Johnno kept us in the game...nice one Sammy.
A victory stolen in my opinion, but such a theft is in itself very positive.
Interesting and successful substitutions from a wise manager.

You are spot on, both full backs were poor. In fact I thought our defending in general was poor. Against Bristol I would play Ferguson, Bartley, Ojay and Gibbs in the back four. Livermore and Sawyers to return as well. We were OK in the first half but were well below par in the second. In fairness Wednesday probably deserved a point. Having said this it's a good sign that when a side is not at its best and manages to win it augers well for the future.

Thank you prando...I always look for your thread after games first, as you always give a fair and unbiased reflection concisely in your report...So, perhaps a gained added two points above our more deserved 1 point for the draw....
Thanks again....now I'll read the other threads...

I never thought I would be happy to see Hegazi leaving the pitch during a game but today on his return I thought he was really iffy. Almost gave a goal away in the first half, then another in the second half. I felt we were bullied by Sheffield second half and they looked far more likely to score albeit from our mistakes rather than them creating good chances. I thought Krovinovic was fouled and the guy fell over him for the penalty but what Krovinovic was doing messing about on the edge of the box like that is beyond me. Slaven called it right with the subs and I'm glad Austin scored his penalty, but I would have preferred his goal to have been the header as a goal in open play would have been a boost to his confidence. Grateful for the win but that second half was sooooooo poor.

Krovinovic did not appear to know where he was going...neither did his team mates......still elementary mistakes been made in our defense third of the field.....

I think you are being a bit harsh on the FB's Prando, they were no better or worse than the rest of our defence and they were playing against pace, therefore their attacking instincts were curbed. No goal came from their mistake or side of the pitch and in DF case he picked up an injury after we had used all 3 subs.

Given both JL and RS were out and Krov is useless it was a great result, but a less than impressive performance.

It's games like this that a promotion campaign is built on, playing badly and still winning.

Hopefully Hegazi's rustiness will be very short term and he can come back stronger than ever.
