We have a manager who is a big fan of youth, but we have young players straining at the bit to get into the side. I wouldn't worry too much about Leko, just see what we can get for him.

Watched the Charlton v Sheffield Wed game yesterday on the box here in Bahrain. Based on what I saw I don’t think LEKO is making much progress. Ok he still has that box of tricks and pace - but doesn’t bring much else. Also drifts out the game too easily. Wish the kid well and he is still young with plenty of time to improve. But would be a million miles away from our first team at present - so good he is out on loan getting game time. Mind Wednesday were a team of cloggers - appalling referee allowed them to get away with so many bad challenges. And the penalty towards the end was a clear dive by Murphy who played for us last year.

Tbh, although I hope he and Field and Edwards do well, I don't think any 3 are as good as NF, whose looks like he has been a first team regular for years.
However, they may be late developers like Sawyers and Roofe so it is a very tricky one as to whether we sell them or keep them.
If we go up I think we will sell them, and we normally put in a 50% sell on clause like with Roofe when he went to the Oxford.
Selling them may seem stupid, but if they are not playing it is ruining their career and stopping those behind them getting games at u23 level.
Leko is just 20 years old.
It seems like he’s been around for ages because he made his debut at 16.
He scored a very good goal for Charlton last week and I’d be keeping him and taking loan money for him for another year or two yet.
Good job Chelsea didn’t sell off Tammy Abraham at 20!
Leko,Field and others can make their mistakes and do their learning on another teams Dollar and then come back to us “oven ready” as Boris would say.
Nathan Ferguson plays because he's exceptional. Burke doesn't because he's rubbish, a lot of other youngsters are somewhere in between. I am CERTAIN that Bilic will play youngsters he knows can outplay the opposition. That's what a team with ambition does.
