    Izzy Brown

A withering talent? He could have been a first team regular with six years first team experience under his belt by now including three years of Premiership experience. He could even have been our star player. Instead he's spent his time muddling about with Chelsea's youth players and going out on loan to underperforming teams (like Luton) although admittedly he hasn't had the best of luck with injuries. Perhaps he should come back and we could help him realise his potential. I can see us having to make the same offer to Nathan Ferguson in a couple of years or so.

I don't blame him or any young player for moving to a big club. It shows ambition and makes financial sense.

He was 16 years old and he'd played a couple of games for us. Chelsea made him an offer which made him a millionaire by signing for them, by the way of a well paid 5 year contract. We couldn't do that at the time and probably couldn't do it now.

Ferguson will leave I imagine, there are riches elsewhere and bigger clubs unfortunately.

If an Izzy Brown or Ferguson don't cut the mustard at say a Chelsea or a Tottenham. Then they can come back to our level, having made some cash. If they do excel there, even greater riches await.

If they don't sign with these big clubs and miss the opportunity of a payday, and then don't cut it at the Albion then they're going down the pyramid to somewhere like Walsall.

If we think they’re so brilliant we should be tying them down earlier so I blame the club.

I gather Tulloch is another one who’s going to disappear as well.

It's not a question of missing the opportunity, it's a question of timing. They should prove themselves with us before looking for a bigger club. in that way they can gain playing time and experience but also repay us by moving for a significant transfer fee. And if they did that they'd still be very young and have proven themselves more than if they had left too early. I would suggest that this route would also give them a better chance of future success.

Why should they? When they have an opportunity to prove themselves at a higher level and can still drop down to our level if they fail?

Lets imagine you are Morgan Rogers or Louis Barry - 16 years old, and the Albion offered you £1k per week on a 4 or 5 year pro contract. And at the same time Barcelona or Man City come in and offer you £15k or £20k per week on a 5 year deal.

You know you are more likely to play 1st team football with us, but with our contract you will earn £250k over 5 years. With the other contract you will earn £4m-£5m. And play and train with the best coaches, players and facilities in the world. You know that whatever happens, you will be set for life by signing for the bigger club. Worst case scenario you could get injured and not play again, or more likely you might not cut it and you could come back to us a few years down the line. It really is a no brainer.

I know we are emotional about our club on here, but lets say you had a son in their position - what would you advise them to do?

I'm not saying its right, that the top clubs have all got the best kids because they pay them more. But it is the reality. This will just keep happening, like a cycle and I can't see it ever changing.

"Higher level" "Bigger club" The problem is with how we view this club. It IS a bigger club. It depends how you look at it. We are founder members of the football league. Unfortunately to many its all about the money and not just being happy to play for a big club like West Brom.

Totally agree Boingy! Some in life just want to be happy and financial riches are not the priority. Look at that Labour MP who is giving away half her salary as an example.

What is “ our level “? I am sure Jonny Evans and Fletcher could have gone to bigger clubs than West Brom but hey - not every player is a greedy *******!!

PS - Ferguson has been crap in the last couple of games as his head is up with the clouds. Perhaps a run with the reserves or cleaning Austin’s boots to show - he’s still proved feck all apart from being an excellent prospect.
