    VAR (again!)

Anyone see the Liverpool v Wolves game? 2 VAR decisions, 1 gave a goal to Liverpool and 1 disallowed a Wolves goal. Both seemed to really annoy the Wolves bench - I can see the point arguing it when it's just a referee decision, but what is the point when it's VAR and clearly was right (even though it may have been another very close offside).

Graham Souness has a way of stopping the marginal offside problem. He said that if the law was changed so that instead of being offside if any part of the attacker is offside, it was not offside if any part of the attacker is onside that would solve it! What is he on?! Would still be the same problem - was he marginally onside or not!

Souness said Liverpool got lucky as 2 VAR things went their way. Isn't that what VAR is supposed to do, take out the 'luck' so teams win fairly?

Completely agree. Wolves were very unlucky in the sense that they played very well and might have won that game 1-0 without VAR to sort out the two marginal incidents, but the right decision was reached in both cases.

Yes it's frustating waiting for the call but people used to go mental about refs getting decisions wrong before VAR as well.

I'm hoping all these problems are ironed out by the time Notts reach the Premier League.

Time the whole useless thing was scrapped. It’s taking the passion and goals out of football. We managed for gods knows how long without it. Mistakes are made, to me the Wolves goal should have been given, totally pathetic and ridiculous decision.

I feel VAR needs to be looked at, but on what basis should that 'goal' have stood? It was offside under the current law.

It's not really a problem though is it....in both scenarios the correct decision was reached. Job done, mint.

I don't understand all the anti VAR rhetoric really, seems to be doing exactly what it says on the tin. The Wolves bench who were dancing around like morons will feel a bit daft when they see it back on the Tele later.

Would it help if the manager saw the VAR evidence on screen as we do?
