Standard of Referee's in the Championship.

Absolutely shocking so far this season..and even more so for us! (last night another classic example).

VAR would have been very very handy for us this season..think it should have been introduced myself considering what is on offer (the riches of the prem).

Bit of a pisser when your checking to see who is reffing us before games in the hope of getting a decent one!

    Agree 100% Mohamed the NARLF.

Refereeing is incredibly poor - but I would imagine all fans in the Championship would say the same, however, we seem to have had a good few blatant f uck ups by the shyte officials. As for VAR - Not too sure it would have made much difference - with the exception of the Berardi incident back in October - Look at the Southampton/Sours cup game at the weekend - blatant handball by Spurs - Ref didn't even review it, seems tye Refs can choose what is reviewed and whatb isn't so a sh it ref making sh it decsisions could be expected to get their VAR calls wrong too.

Do agree we have had a few appaling ones this season - even worse than last seasons

I always watch for Linnington and hope we don't get him after the last Millwall fiasco. There's people out there, 'real' Leeds fans I suppose, who tell you not to blame the refs. Last night the Klich foul right in front of him and the keeper save that went for a bye ball were ridiculous. Woods should have been sent off, he was already booked when he pulled Klich back, the ref went to blow for the free kick then played the advantage, but he should have went back and give the ginger rat a 2nd yellow. Loved the ball boy who made their keeper go to near the corner flag when we were 3-2 up.

It isn't great......but alas last night we couldn't even blame poor refereeing in our game against Cardiff....
But really don't like the look of that VAR stuff.....slowly strangling the life out of the game.....
Soon the 90 minute game will be as long as an American football game or whatever they call it.....I shudder at the thought of it.....still we might not have to worry about VAR, the way we are playing....

The refereeing last night was par for the course for our games this season. I wouldn't mind so much if the wrong decisions were genuine errors, cos after all the Ref etc are only human. But the decisions we've had so far this season beggar belief.

It has got so bad that commentators, pundits, sports writers and opposition fans are all making comments about it. I have even seen people saying that there could be some truth in our chant of The EFL's Corrupt where previously they used to laugh at us and call us paranoid.

VAR would be fine if it was used as it was intended, the clue is in the name Video ASSISTANT Referee. And if the referees used it as intended and went to look at the pitchside monitor themselves as happened in the Womens World Cup and as far as I know happens in the Leagues in Europe. And not only that they should do away with the bloody slide rule to see if someone is offside because they have a big chest or a big nose and it is protruding past the defender.

But as we all saw in the cup game against Arsenal even the VAR officials can be blind.

    It’s really not ‘new news’.

Agree anyone remember the shockers Ellery used to give against us - pen vs Man U in the 1990s against Deane where the foul was yards outside the box springs to mind

Worst refereeing decision of all time was against WBA in 1971. The Jeff Astle "goal". Mile offside. Cost us the Championship that year. Arsenal go on to win the Double. Alkost 50 years but it still bothers me.

Anyone know what they get paid a game?

Is it a full time job?

I think rather than VAR a simpler approach might be that a coach gets 1 "challenge" a game. They could appeal a goal or bad foul. If the challenge overturns the call it doesn't count as using it.

    we'd get 2-3 challenges a game.
