What an absolute legend and one of mine and my late dad’s favourite actors.
A monumental life.........someone you felt might live forever.
One of my own dad’s few remaining heroes with only Clint Eastwood now left to carry the torch.
RIP Kirk.........one shouldn’t really be sad when someone has had 103 years but I am.
Well played sir.......a remarkable innings of true class.
I am Spartacus, no I am Spartacus.
Olivia de Haviland is still alive and the same age. But women usually live longer than men. Going to Bingo or the Hairdressers is about as difficult as their lives get. Look at the fuss they make out of having a baby, a bit of tummy ache and you never hear the end of it.
Brilliant Actor as is Clint Eastwood, who making films to this day.
I highly recommend his film The Mule and look forward to watching his latest one Richard Jewell.
Billy Bob Thornton is a favourite of mine. As for actresses I loved Audrey Hepburn in her heyday and Cyd Charisse. Beautiful talented women. Now its all tattood eyebrows and butts as wide as an artic lorry.
Gene Hackman is about 90, he usually plays supporting actor but his films are memorable for his presence. Eli Wallach was another who for me stole The Magnificent Seven as well as The Good the Bad and the Ugly. George Kennedy and Lee Van Cleef were also good supports but not so good when they had star billing. Kirk and Clint, stars in every sense of the word, i don't think either of them have made a bad film.
Very intense actor with a touch of the loony about him, I loved watching his films.
RIP Kirk Douglas.
Some great shouts re Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman and Eli Wallach too.
Superb actors.
Kirk Douglas was one of the greats ,and so was Burt Lancaster same mould I always thought.
