Do any of the older fans on here know much about the origins of the old bowler hatted magpie? I don't think it was ever a club badge, but it was clearly a very popular emblem for the club right up until the sixties. Where did it come from? Like the stylised magpie badge of the 70s and 80s, I find it very cool and wish the club would do more with it.
