I have read one or two articles today from the southern press that we are a good match for Potchetino.
Basically they all think we are a stepping stone for him to really showcase his talents to get a move to the the best clubs in the world, like Madrid and Man Utd.
I wonder if a club in the cold cold north east of England will ever shake the perception that we can be nothing more than an also ran club.
I believe we have the best fans in the world, the club is a sleeping giant and the limits are endless.
Being devils advocate, why would the new manager, treat us as a stepping stone if we were to become the massive club we all know we can be?
Its all good going to Barcelona for a sun tan n **** but if we were winning the CL and the PL in 5 years time, i cant see what a bit of sun would matter anyway, we would be the top dogs and may even outgrow some managers
With a bit more experience at boardroom level, during the 90s, had we continued to grow the business and made better managerial appointments.
Had we Brought in someone to compliment Keegan's style rather than destroy the team and bring in a bunch of Scouse has-beens & repeated that mistake after the board shamefully dismissed Sir Bobby. We would have been a mainstay in Europe and coined in those riches.
Sadly we weren't well run (ever - but it sure looked like the guys did their best but didn't have the experience to keep NUFC at the top level) back then; they took us as far as they could.
I am forever grateful to the Sheppards & Halls for building our football Cathedral and bringing the brand of football we all so enjoyed in during that period. It seemed like a good hand off initially to Ashley.
Now we have a real opportunity to return to the top table of football and enjoy quality, exciting, technical, tactical football.
Every fan of every club holds those ambitions, the sour grapes and negativity spewed by all corners of the media; pulling every trick in the book and shaking every tree with Amnesty etc etc to try and stop the sale going through is just completely expected.
This will make beating them all the more sweet.
F**k the nay sayers, their moral outrage is fake as their spray tans.
Press seem to be running out of ammo. Unless I've missed something today, it's all quiet on the Geordie front.![]()
But apparently there is no agenda against us according to everyone in the press from Marcotti to Keys.
No agenda against us what so ever!
Pathetic!
