    Burnley Statement Embarrasing

A plane flys over the stadium tonight with a banner - White Lives Matter!

Burnley release a statement saying the banner is offensive - they apologise to the Premier League and say those responsible are not welcome at Turf Moor. How embarrassing!!!

Why is the banner offensive? How will the family of the three butchered to death in a park by a Libyan take this statement - did these three lives not matter?

All lives matter FFS. If I was a Burnley fan I would send my season ticket back!!

PS - even a good Asian mate said it’s embarrassing now and getting over the top!

Haven't done themselves any favours here. It'll be interesting to see the reaction in the next few days.

Baggieal, of course all lives matter. But you do know about the injustices in the US that has been going on for centuries right? By saying 'Black Lives Matter' you are not saying other lives don't matter - this is seemingly the most common misunderstanding of the BLM movement. The BLM movement, is about bringing attention to the way that Black people across the world are denied certain human rights by virtue of being Black.
Saying BLM doesn’t discount the importance of other lives but sends an important message about the racism needlessly jeopardizing the lives of black people globally...

This is a US thing, not a UK thing. The protest here went too far. Plus every company tagging onto it is a joke, as if putting on a tshirt like 'kick it out' will do anything. Sadly, it isn't a football issue it is a societal issue. Plus just because some Libyan immigrant goes on a killing spree isn't a tit for tat excuse to bring into a BLM debate, if that is what you are doing. It seems like some media organisation's agenda is on the shiz stir mode again to divide. That incident is completely unrelated. Looking for someone to blame? The current labour party who have been in power for the past 12 odd years are responsible for this.

I understand this and agree about the US. The blacks in the US are nicer folk than most of the whites and I go there enough. The slogan though on shirts - every game with the knee at every game is starting to divide - I get that, For me every life matters so this slogan does not do much to promote the injustice which I get. Burnley to condemn the white lives banner tonight as being offensive is poor - terrible timing yes but I get why many are getting fed up! Even the blacks I know think it’s getting over the top and starting to divide.

The US is a crazy country and we should stay out of their politics - bit like guns they will never go away over there! Trump is a horrible racist and power crazy and here lies part of the problem!

Most normal, average, sensible people don’t need to see a slogan or wear a slogan about this stuff........we can see what’s right and what’s wrong.

Some people live for this stuff.

My cousin is 36 and has spent her whole life at school and working at a university and she’s exactly the sort of person who relishes this guff.

If it’s BAME,BHLT,BLM or bacon, egg, sausage and tomato she’s all over it and spends most her life on these crusades, attending and promoting.

She’s like a lot of these Liberal Elite and people who spend their whole lives in the education bubble........detached from the real world yet loves talking down to us supposed white, middle aged racists!

What everyone should be saying is "Lives matter"
Anyone with a position performing a public service should live by this mantra.
Discipline for anyone who treats whites, blacks, chinese, polish, mexicans, alaskans, or anyone from wherever better or worse than anyone else.
Nothing wrong with either sets of banners except that they are not all embracing.
America has a much more serious problem than us. There are parts of America where if they cant hunt animals they shoot their pets. Imagine those as Police. They shoot first, for the fun of it, ask questions later. This is what has to change.

I agree and change the racist president Trump! The slogan on shirts and the knee should have been for one match only|!
