    Big Big night tomorrow.

We definitely deserved to go up up to the lockdown, and if Brentford end up in second place they will have deserved it purely on their unbelievable performances since the lockdown. I for one wont complain if they do. If we hold them off though, then we will have deserved it over all. The sad thing in all of this is that Brentford if they go up will lose Benrahma without a doubt to one of the bigger clubs and we will lose Pareira for the same reason. It makes you wonder what the point is of building a good team. Its short lived. The big money clubs make sure they get the best players, even if its to sit on the bench. Remember that Bilic was given the remit to get us promoted over the next few seasons, and I thought he would struggle this season due to building a relatively new side. He's had a great season whatever happens. Having said all the above I am desperate to see us go up, but it is always tinged with angst knowing that next season if we are in the Prem it wont be as enjoyable as this one for us barring a miracle, like Lai saying " Spend as much as you need, buy the best"!. Other than the "big six" you are on borrowed time till the next relegation. But still .......COYB!!!

That would be good Al. I would be happy with that. Depends on a lot of things though, and mainly being more defensive again. I think Wolves are a better blueprint. It doesn't happen that often though. Villa and Norwich being more typical of what happens. Struggle.

I agree Boingy - Sheffield Utd though in terms of what they have spent ( not a lot ) and sheer desire from players has been first class. Their manager really is manager of the year!

Whilst the championship is fun we need to aspire to the Sheffield model as being top in anything is what competition is all about!

If we fail to get promoted it’a not how good Brentford have been but because of our own failings and it’s clear what they are! Let’s hope Sawyers turns up tomorrow! Not bothered HRK or Austin starting but really not keen on Robinson! Krov must start though....

We'd struggle to better the 11 points Derby C u n t y got if we go up with this squad.

Exactly!! Four or five players max could cut it and no more! Crucial positions - keeper - midfield and strikers!!

If we don’t go up - got to say whether some like it or not - Bilic will have failed!

Before the season started my prediction was 14th. That was primarily because we had so many new players to fit in (of Tueday's X1 only 4 played last season) plus the loss of the 45 goals Of JRod and Gayle. So imo whether we go up or not the Manager has been a massive improvement on anything since Hodgson and recruitment the best for perhaps 10 years.

But why wasn’t Gayle or JRod replaced? Surely that’s down to the manager? I like Bilic but some of his starting selections have lost us points!!! You say recruitment has been a huge improvement - well Bilic got Grady, Krov and Periera so what did Dowling get us - Austin, Zohore and Sawyers. I repeat - HRK, Austin and Zohore are not fit to lace Gayles boots and here lies the problem. Sawyers would not even get in the Brentford team!

Should the Brentford manager not get manager of the season - lovely football - every position strong and operating on a shoe string budget compared to Bilic?

There are so many holes in your argument I don't know quite where to begin but here goes.

Gayle and JRod were replaced by Zohore and Austin. I don't know which what to say next because in one sentence you seem to be blaming Bilic for this and in the next only he brought in the good signings. Which is it?

Bilic selections cost us points. Of course they did. Can you find me a manager that hasn't?

I say recruitment has been a 'huge' improvement. No I don't! I say it has perhaps been the best for 10 years. Like every season it's been a a mixed bag. Goal scorers or lack of them has of course been a major failure. You'll agree with that won't you?

Should the Brentford manager not get Manager of the Season? Imo yes he should

Read my response! Bilic through connections brought in Krov, Grady and Pereira ie the three best players. Dowling brought in Zohore, Austin and Sawyers as part of the recruitment. Are you seriously saying that we have anywhere near recruited adequately for Gayle and Jrod? These three strikers would not lace Gayles boots - - repeat! Robinson too is another poor loan signing.

I am glad you agree the Brentford manager should get Manager of the year on a shoe string budget and a strong squad in every department. Why is this?

Regardless of which division we are in - invest in youth like Tulloch and O'shea and NOT has beens which always have cost us dearly. Am I satisfied with recruitment - NO!!!. Am I satisfied with Bilic - yes but we need to get promoted as failure we take us considerably backwards and the opportunity missed will be greater than last year! That said - I am confident we will beat a poor Huddersfield team although less confident of converting chances!
