    Paper meet cracks

    Hmm.

The good: Mugabi is developing into a solid, though obviously limited back-up. Polworth took a couple of decent corners and for all it took him a while to get going, a goal and assist from midfield is good by anyone's going. Long looked lively an good for both him and Lang (and Watt actually) to get off the mark.

But...that was a real struggle and but for their idiot midfielder throwing it away, we were in huge bother. Even then they get us huge fright with 10 men.

One of the things I really like about Robinson is he has no pride in admitting things are wrong. Sign Hastie and he's rubbish? Ditch him. Accumulate 400 wingers? Ditch them. But if plan B is equally ineffective as plan A, what do you do next? And for long spells we created very, very little while being very, very open at the back. Grimshaw was an embarrassment.

What Celtic will do to us is anyone's guess. I'm still not convinced Robinson's heart is in it, he and the club have plenty thinking and work to do before the return from the international break.

But for them missing 2 gilt-edged chances before the sending off we were out ... and totally embarrassed to boot. Grimshaw; please let me know what he offers?!

That's exactly what tonight was, papering over cracks. To be fair though, in the end we did so in a good bit of style and you can't argue with a 5-1 win but overall that scoreline was a bit misleading. The turning point was undoubtedly the sending off and as always is the case with this team, the first goal is crucial. Had they taken any of their many chances at 0-0 then they would likely have seen it out but we get a lucky break then get ahead ourselves and our confidence was boosted as a result and we saw some nice play and some well worked and taken goals.

If you'd offered me the group stage of the Europa League and finishing 10th in the league at the start of the season I'd have taken it so in a way everything is bang on track.

A good win last night and thats the bottom line. However the cracks in our performance were plain for all to see and they can't be ignored.
