Happy 120th birthday to the Hawthorns.

Highest ground above sea level in the country,Ist new stadium built in the 20th century.
Thanks all the memories good and bad.

I'd like the electric sign back that used to grace the outside of the stadium at the Birmingham Road - ALBION

Great. When did you first see the shrine? I was very small and was being taken to Dudley Zoo. As the bus passed the ground my dad lifted me up. The Brummie was small and unroofed then. I can vividly remember just being able to see the emerald green of the pitch.

Season 63-64 I remember going in through those old turnstiles and running up the back terrace steps of the Brummie as there was no back to it. Sammy getting on the bar to conduct the crowd, always in the second half. Spotting all the fags being lit around the ground during night games, collecting the beer bottles and taking 'em back to get the money off 'em. Sometimes if the game was crap we would mess about on the grass bank behind what is now the East Stand and I remember changing ends at half time if we kicked towards the Brummie in the first half. Ah the memories. No place (other than a vagina) has given me such happiness but also such misery, as The Hawthorns has.
