Is it me or did the team seem totally miserable last night. Harper and HRK scored goals to be proud of yet their faces projected a feeling of ''so what.'' Austin saw the goals fly in yet just turned away with a look of 'I'm jealous, that should have been me.'' Even Robinson who normally is grinning from ear to ear when things go right scored and just high fived Edwards and walked back. For me there was a distinct feeling of who cares about this. I did not expect the players to run to the touchline sliding on their knees celebrating the goals as we have to remember they were playing Harrogate not Liverpool or someone like. But the feel good team ethic seemed to be missing last night and even Bilic seemed subdued in his summing up. I hope i'm wrong but I get the feeling that all is not well at the club.

I think it's just the league cup, I always go to these games but most give it a miss due to all the team changes.

I thought that as well..... a few of the lads looked up for it....Button, Field, OShea, Kipre..... but most looked totally miserable .... maybe we are still adjusting to the zero crowds.....

It's been going on between teams divisions apart for years and not just with Albion players. I'm surprised if you haven't noticed it before and I wouldn't read too much into it last night either. Professionals from clubs higher up the league pyramid don't want to be seen rubbing players' from lower down noses in it. They were expected to score. They expected to score. They were expected win. They won. Job done, move onto the next game. Personally I'd celebrate goals in training and the Cups against whomever in the same way I'd celebrate a league goal. Like an absolute lunatic. But then I'm not a professional football player trying to be cool about what should be a routine victory for them. Glad to see the respect for the opposition's not reciprocated by players from lower down when they score. Enjoy the moment.

I agree with those views; looking at it that way, our team behaved in a very sportsmanlike manner.

The celebrating ( or not ) of a goal is an interesting one.

On a personal note I never celebrated even at my low level.

I put such pressure on myself to score that each goal ended up being a massive relief.

Collymore cupping his ears with his hands was always a major wind up for me.

I think the outrageous celebration should only be for the player who is a class above at his level.

Like wearing coloured boots.........if I’d have worn them this would’ve indicated “MASSIVE W A N K E R” to everyone watching my performance.

I probably am but I preferred to wear ordinary boots and let people work out the former for themselves 😆😆

In GAA games the goal is rarely celebrated...as the ball can be back in play very quickly...
Never celebrated goals...would usually just say a firm yessss and move on. I have no time for it.....and think the game should be restarted immediately weather the celebration is going on or not.....

I don’t think so. I just think celebrations are stifled when scoring against lower league opposition as opposed to somebody like Everton (ha!). I celebrated once after scoring a pretty good goal but felt a bit of a berk. I scored an even better one shortly afterwards but there was no celebration then or ever again. It was more than enough to have somebody else congratulate me from time to time for my efforts.
