So we just ignore the 5 or 6 years of good work before? Yes it was a bad season for him, no one can argue that. I’m not saying he’s the messiah by any stretch but to have one bad season out of 8 hardly warrants huge criticism.

And he also got Wimbledon promoted to League One, under significant financial constraints. Leaving Wimbledon higher in the football pyramid tan when he joined.

No he would not have left wimbledon in a higher league , because if they had stayed they would have been relegated

He did well for just one season, the rest average, then terrible
The point being we employed him when he was at his worst, says it all really

So it must be all the financial freedom at Notts, that causing him the trouble
The real thing is Ardley had no pressure at wimbledon, they were a little club not expecting to do much, so years of mediocre was acceptable. Its a completely different story at Notts, where the pressure is on him, years of mediocre is not acceptable , especially in the national league

Hold on. You are blaming Ardley for being approached and appointed by then Notts County Chairman Alan Hardy "when he employed him when he was at his worse".

Read that back to yourself, cos that's what you are saying. Try and spot the obvious connection and responsibility.

Of course you can't blame Alan Hardy for the appointment of Ardley because.....

    Nope me neither. Anyone?
