If a Burnley player had gone down in such a shameful manner I am certain he would have bitten their balls off, chewed them and swallowed them in front of the player.

That was disgraceful and not worthy of a professional football player. The game has gone to the dogs.

Indeed BT, but there was a referee, two liners and VAR, so why was Lamela allowed to stay on the pitch ? If it wasn't a red, then it was a yellow for the initial elbow and a 2nd yellow for simulation, feigning injury. The game really is in a dreadful state and seems to be getting worse by the week.

What intrigued me also was the reaction of the United players to Lamela getting one of their own sent off, ie there wasn't one. Maybe players these days accept what Lamela did as perfectly normal, and they were all thinking I'd have done exactly the same ? Back in the day if players like Jack Charlton, Andy Lochhead, Nobby Stiles, Ron Harris, Tommy Smith or more recently even Roy Keane had seen that, Lamela would not have walked off the pitch in one piece at half-time.
