Where do we go from here?

I haven't a clue! Last night's performance could only be described as shocking. Remember, we were playing against a side who haven't won a game all season and we were second best in every single aspect of the game. There was not one positive. It is no exaggeration to say that I don't know where our first win will come from. These are desperate times and desperate measures are required. What these measures are, God knows. Unfortunately, that side last night just looked as if they haven't got the ability to survive in this division. The only solution that I can see, and I'm sure that this won't happen, is that someone will come along and buy us out and finances us in the January transfer window. Can any of you see this happening, because I can't? I know this may sound petty under the present circumstance but whoever sanctioned that awful strip needs sacking as well!
I can only apologise for this depressing post but this is how I feel.

The interview Bilić gave last night told me all I need to know. Bilić more or less said he doesn't know where we go from here. He said the players perform in training but he cant get them to do it where it matters. A new manager now required if we wish to stay in the Prem.

I think the players look like they are performing in training but with nothing else to gauge them against other than players he won’t have in his squad, how can he (Bilic) judge them. He needs to take a damn good look at his squad and his management skills and come up with a solution. We do have the players to survive in 17th, we just need a manager who is prepared to use the squad. We have been here before with stubborn managers. It is a bit like Groundhog Day following, supporting or being a fan of WBA.

I just remember the match against Millwall at the Den last year in January. Atrocious conditions. Playing against a team that typically “do teams over” at their place. We had more or less the same team as we have now. And we not only played them off the park, we were aggressive and hard tackling totally committed to the cause. Something has changed ........ we have looked physically inferior to every team we have played this year ..... and it’s not just the extra Prem “quality” ..... there is something wrong in our make-up ....

We could blame Lai but to be honest we have paid good money for numerous players this transfer window .... it’s time for leadership and grit in the squad .... and I just don’t see any leaders ......

Who ever takes over they have a job on their hands, we have, as Barrera said no leaders, grit or steel in the squad.
We seem to have a team of tippy tappy players.

Very good points! We have been consistently crap since January with Pereira played out of position - poor squad selections and subs! Where is Gibbs/Grosicki who are better than Townsend/Phillips? You can't blame the owner for this! There seems no spirit in the squad apart from Gallagher!

Personally the game is up for Bilić. His selections his subs were all baffling and they proved to be so on the pitch as we lurched to another defeat. The rot set in at the back end of the Championship and as continued. Most new the time was up for Pulis when we were demolished by Chelsea 4-0 at home. Well Spurs are here on Sunday.

I think that you have hit the nail on the head there Barrera. We are physically inferior to most teams in the division. We are far too lightweight and have got bullied off the ball too easily this season. I lost count of the number of 50/50 challenges we lost night. Unfortunately, we do not have many players in the wings who could step up and rectify this. Most of our midfielders are very similar in stature and ability and do not gel well together. I'm afraid that I can't see an instant solution to this dilemma and just hope that we can get to the transfer window with something still to play for. Even then it is dubious whether the purse strings would be relaxed enough to give us a chance.

I said before the season started that I personally could not see us winning a game in the Premiership as even the sides who would be competing to avoid relegation were still far too strong for us. Somehow we managed to get 3 goals up against Chelsea and still could not see it out for a win. We all can see that Phillips and Sawyers have been so poor as far back as the last few games in the Championship, yet they consistently get involved with the first team be it on the bench or starting eleven. I hate to admit it but I think Bilic is finished with us. He obviously cannot motivate the side to perform and only a fool keeps doing the same thing while watching it failing. We could actually play a game where we concede double figures. I just hope it ain't the Wulfs because I think they will totally steamroller us. Our players physically and mentally appear like infants playing men. I am actually glad that crowds cannot attend and that I don't have to go and endure the nightmare that the Wulfs game will be.

There are a few sides I fear could give us a bigger hammering than the Wolves this year ...... starting with Spurs this weekend .... what was it 6-1 against Man Utd at Old Trafford ....... if our lot don’t get their peckers out this Sunday it could be a real hiding .....
