I watched a kids game this morning while walking the dog for about 15 minutes. It was dreadful. The kids were about 11 or 12.

My lad grew up in Brum and played football at a younger age group, all of those teams two years younger, would have destroyed that Ely team.

To cut it short, a player would get the ball and just hoof it in any direction, including the wrong way. Like you would in a playground at age five.

I spoke to the coach and how poor it was, he didnt like that. I offered to do some coaching, which he accepted, but i wont. You cant teach kids that are so far behind.

On further questioning, i asked him if they did skills training he said yes. I cant believe that. I asked if they were on their computers all the time, he said yes, some are up till 4 am on their playstations, and come to the game having had no breakfast.

This is why Eric Dier gets in the England team. Kids dont master basic skills by playing everyday with tennis balls on concrete.

It also shows the decadence of a wealthy society.
