    Chris Brunt.

I realise that many will disagree with me but why did we not retain Chris Brunt and then proceed to recruit Ivanovic who is even older. It doesn't 't make sense. Last season in the last few games Brunt was brought on to shore up the defence from a holding midfield position. This he did successfully with his calmness, control of a situation and passing ability. There is a strong possibility that he could have done the same job this season and then perhaps we would have won games that we drew and drew games that we lost. We didn't have to start him but use him in the same way. Ivanovic has hardly been a success and, in my opinion, keeping Brunt plus Hegazi would have made us a better side defensively.
I am not personally saying that Bilic should be sacked as he has been let down badly by Lai and the board but one win in the previous twelve games does make it difficult to justify keeping him on.

Totally agree with you Leicester! Brunt showed he was still decent in those last few games and Hegazi was a huge loss! We will lose at Man City but if we fail to beat Villa in my view - Bilic must go! The subs of late have been truly shocking - taking off Robinson and Gallagher and bringing on Austin. Sawyers is a shocking lazy player!

The rot goes much deeper than Bilic though - who sanctioned the move for Hegazi - who brought in Krov and Grant so late - blame the Board!

Then who takes the wrap for Diangana and Grant as clearly they have not been good enough?

We won’t beat Villa, not only are they the luckiest team ever, we are the most unlucky, also and I’m sad to say it they have a far better squad than us as week 😞

In Hindsight yes keeping Brunt would have been the best option from where we are now and that is the problem.
In all honesty I’m sure Bilic was expecting to be given reasonable resources to recruit some younger players as part of his plans for the future, not loose change.
Selling Hegazi and attempting to flog Grosickii at the last moment must have been a total humiliation for Bilic.
Let’s hope an enthusiastic buyer comes along soon
Good news is that I’m hopeful that we won’t finish bottom

Brunt is struggling to get game time in the championship with Bristol so what makes you think he’d cut it in the prem ?

You need pace in the prem he and ivanovic don’t posses it I’m afraid

I have to say that I have been very vocal about the poor performance of our Recruitment department for sometime.

However, for me, letting Chris Brunt go was not included in their many poor decisions. I like Brunt and think he was a great servant to the club. However he was well past his sell by date, especially as we are now in the Premier league. He did well out of us but there comes a time when you need to move players on.

Brunt is like a greyhound Viaduct compared to Sawyers and Austin

Brunt was a great servant to our club who deserves our respect but I think if anyone thinks he’s the answer to our current plight they’re pis^sing in the wind.

As for Bilic, he’s probably forgot more about football than most of us on here know. In my humble opinion he’s been hung out to dry. If he’s any sense he’ll be engineering a sacking as it makes no sense to resign unless by mutual consent.

Since we lost Ashworth it went pear shaped as we could punch above our weight with him on board but we don’t have that luxury now. We’ve been found out for running a very tight shop which doesn’t hack it in the Premier League

The problems are much deeper and as with any big business you need clear leadership from the top and a committed workforce buying in to where you’re heading. I don’t see that at our club currently
