    OT Covid priority groups

For vaccine. Have just discovered I'm in group 5 priority out of 11 I think.

But if I get sent to prison I move up the lust. Anybody need an insurance job done or a wife knocked off?

‘Lust’? Have you become South African or is that what talking about ‘knocking off’ someone’s wife does for you?

Seriously, as you’re the same group as me that suggests your group is entirely age based and they haven’t made any allowance for your medical condition. Sure they should...maybe you could avoid a spell in custody by telling them.

Having been told at a regular diabetic review, I fear they know medical issues already 🤔

My crime needed to move up the lust must be modest though, since if its sooooo extreme I'll end up in solitary and presume not then prioritised.

But I believe if the bullet has your name on it, then you can't dodge it, so the Widderanag family jewels are safe for now

Slightly off your O/T but I note Merkel and the German government have reacted to a surge by tightening restrictions on socialising over Christmas and the New Year (usually huge in Berlin) and up to 10th Jan I think.

Won’t be popular but it is ‘government’ compared to the ever increasing UK/US attitude to a sizeable minority of ‘well we can’t stop them doing what they want anyway’.

    ‘Slightly’ lol.

Back ON topic I have been aiming to bump myself up the list by eating my way up the BMI scale but now find I can’t get out the door

Well, at least it was about Covid and he does refer to me as Herr Widderanag. That’s quite relevant for here.

If anyone can impose it's will on the people it's the German government. Curious though that, despite being the early "poster boy" for doing things best, they are now in this position.

Speaking of Germans, did you see that a Namibian bloke named Adolf Hitler got voted into local legislature there recently.

Sadly the " it doesn't matter what we are asked to do, we wont do it" theme does prevail here, so the authorities are stuck with it. No point shutting Christmas for sure, best we could do would be to shut pubs or shops again to limit inevitable damage. Asking people to do things voluntarily won't happen

To be confirmed this evening in a Prime Ministerial broadcast in Holland but it's all leaked out and the following was public knowledge about 4 hours ago.

From midnight, just about everything is closing until January 19th at the earliest.

Shops with the exception of food shops. As everything is now closing I have put forward an argument for the off-licence to be deemed as essential.

Work from home unless it's absolutely imperative to go to work.

Theatres and cinemas which have been able to have 30 people in will close.

Ga-lleries (hyphenation added to navigate the swear filter for some reason....), Museums, zoos, fun and theme parks will close.

Gyms and Saunas to close. You may do sport outside but in a group of maximum 4 people.

All contact businesses are to close so nail studios, hairdressers, massage parlours and the red light district are all to close. Physios, dentists can stay open.

Hotels can remain open but can't serve food or drink.

Per day we are allowed 2 visitors who are not members of the household. For Christmas that will increase to 3.

Outside you van be with a maximum of 1 other person unless you are all of the same household.

It is not known if restaurants/fast food places etc can still do takeouts and/or deliveries. My local offie is hoping he can do takeout or delivery services.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ?

Is the vaccine available over there yet?

I don't believe that it is. As part of the EU all being equal, they're waiting for their joint approval. According to reports they're delaying approving the vaccine so that people will have more confidence in it. Every day they delay it, 1,000s of EU citizens are dying from it. It's also reported that they're criticizing the UK for using 'emergency' rules to fast track the clearance. If 1,000s of people dying every day, doesn't constitute an emergency, then I don't know what does.

Could you imagine the reaction in this country if we'd developed the first vaccine and then delayed clearing it, whilst other countries around the world were taking deliveries and vaccinating their vulnerable people.
