Question for the Board -- Bilic or Allardyce?

Following the Villa and Liverpool matches, where do you stand? Are you pleased that Slaven was sacked and that Big Sam is in control, or would you rather that Slaven had been kept?

I am much newer to the Baggies and English football than all of you are. My suspicion is that we are more likely to stay up under Allardyce. Still and all, I wish that Bilic had been kept.

    What's your sense?

Love Bilic, but unfortunately a bad run of results and you go these days. Allardyce will shore us up and may well keep us up. The problem has always been lack of Ambition. If Bilic had been given a hundred million to spend I'm sure we would have a great team now. Allardyce is a stop gap. If he fails we have gone back 5 years in footballing development. If he keeps us up with a stay of execution it will STILL depend on an ambitious board. Lets all hope we get one.

A much bigger % chance of staying up under a pragmatist like Fat Sam than under Bilic who made weird decisions.

How the hell did you end up inflicting Albion on yourself from Canada Calvin?

From Michigan in the US. I began watching the Premier League four years ago. I decided that I needed a side to support and there was no way that I could pick one of the big six; that was too much like cheating or supporting the NY Yankees or Lewis Hamilton. I settled on the Baggies because I liked the nickname, the kits and the crest and there were a couple of matches, including one late in the year against Spurs, that I really enjoyed. After the Baggies went down, I thought that I'd pick another side, but I found that I couldn't, and I followed the club in the Championship last year even though it's hard to find the games even on the internet in the States.

I look forward to visiting the Hawthorns some day.

Bilic was very popular but ultimately it’s a results driven business. We were going down with the form we were in. Sam might change that and I’m all likelihood is the best option for the situation we are in.

There’s still plenty of games and a transfer window so let’s see if he can get a tune out of our bunch of superstars.

    Way to go Calvin! 🌟

I’ve been to the Shrine (The Hawthorns) 14 or 15 times now (a bit closer from Sweden). 😊

    Bilic, btw...

Short term Allardyce ( I hope he’s gone at the end of the season for a young manager)
Bilic for me, sadly not backed by the morons in charge

    A very interesting read CB.

You should be able to get most of our highlights through YouTube at the very least though I guess?

Many of us on here have had the good fortune to have supported Albion from the 60’s and 70’s when although never a rich club, we had fantastic players such as Cyrille Regis, Tony Brown and Laurie Cunningham.

If you haven’t already trolled the internet for highlights of out halcyon days perhaps you’ll appreciate the link below of probably our most famous match of the last 40 odd years away at Manchester United.

The final Albion goal by Regis is in my opinion, the best team goal I’ve seen us score in the 49 years I have supported the club although the second goal by Len Cantello was voted goal of the season by the TV station who filmed the game.

    Enjoy if not seen before,

Thanks very much, Mick. I've read Born to Be a Baggie so I've read about the 60s and 70s, but didn't have the pleasure of watching.
