Fat Sam will be gone
Sam isn’t the problem, though, he may not be the manager that we all want but who on Earth is going to take this job if Sam leaves? The club is infected with a Chinese virus filtering down from the top, Laidisease. It is Lai that we need to be rid of. It would be nice if all the WBA fans forums kept up our criticism of the chinaman, sadly, though, there is one where any post that is critical of the Beloved Leader is immediately deleted. I don’t understand their stance.
Some forums may take issue with certain comments made by posters for legal reason. If a post crosses the boundary of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable i.e. is it fact or is it untrue. If one writes something untrue about another then that is liable, if you speak those untruths that is defamation. One might also have to consider any racial abuse as well.
So both the author and website owners/administrators have to be mindful of what one prints, albeit owners of football clubs regularly get abuse from disgruntled fans, it does not necessarily mean they have to accept it, particularly if it is untrue.
Each site is responsible for the content of the posts on that site, as is each person who posts, so it may be that some forums are fully aware of the consequences, should an individual like Mr Lia decide, to make a point which could become extremely costly to the website owners and possibly individual posters as well.
I always think of how costly it would be to defend such a case and the damage it would do to me both financially and mentally before I pen something that will be out there forever and may well one day come back to haunt me.
People like Mr Lai could well spend a small fortune in legal costs for little reward but do it simply to make or a point or because they can and without any concern of the cost.
For the likes of me it might well drain me financially and my home may be at risk also.
I understand all that, there was nothing defamatory or racial in it; to express one’s dislike of the owner in ‘frank’ terms results in deletion of posts. The mods there apparently lack a sense of humour, anyway, this is the best Albion forum and I very rarely go on to others and it is probably inappropriate for me to have a go at any other message boards on this one. Just a bit mystifying.
I am, and always have been in precisely the same position.
No blame at all should be apportioned towards Bilic, Lai is the powerhouse at the Albion. If he says no, then it’s no.
We’re in the Premier League with a Championship side, period. For this Lai is solely responsible for all our misery and I will as one of his customers have my say, obviously how or what you say will potentially leave you open to return fire, In whatever form that may take.
Fast forward, Allardyce is charged with stopping the unstoppable, the team is actually playing WORSE with key players like Gallagher looking half the player they were under Bilic. The budget available it appears is peanuts and with points gained by Christmas stats pointing to impending relegation, already the white flag is half way up the pole.
The feeling of helplessness has never been greater, I feel like Tom Hanks in Castaway, trying endlessly to get over that big wave but being washed back to shore and facing your future marooned in hell.
Oh for a bit of bosted Portakabin...
Understood Kettering, and I think I know the site to which you refer, and if I am right, it is heavily moderated. That said it is extremely popular. I don’t use it myself, solely due to that way it works, as an example, if there is a thread about Sam Allardyce and you start another two months later, which also concerns Sam Allardyce but is about a totally different aspect to the original topic, it will either be deleted or moved to the old thread. Some threads go on for hundreds of pages which makes the whole thing difficult to engage with.
I wouldn't sack him if we lost heavily to Wolves. Wolves themselves made that knee jerk mistake with McCarthy with no real replacement in mind and ended up in league one which definitely wouldn't have happened had they kept McCarthy.
At least Sam knows what he has, or what he hasn't, but seems uo for the fight.
If we did go down as seems likely i would back him to get us back up.
