    Some Positivity

    The odds are against us, there's no doubt about that.

    But here are some reasons to be positive;

    - We have a survival specialist in charge who has been parachuted into dire situations before and has never been relegated

    - We are in the market for new players. Hamza Choudhury strongly linked (a massive upgrade on what we have in my view) and a striker will come in before the end of the window. And maybe more will follow too. This will freshen up the squad which is much needed.

    - We are no longer in the cup, which will give us extra time to prepare for our league games. All of the other bottom 5 in the prem have winnable games in the next round.

    - We still have Fulham and Brighton to play at home, we need to win both of those. If we do, we are right in the mix to stay up.

    - It only takes 1 win to turn our season around. Wolves are playing midweek and have lost their striker for the season. Its also a derby game. I'm not at all saying we will beat them, but it would springboard our season if we were to scrape a win

    Just a few thoughts I had today. Or is all this just optimistic delusion?

    Your last sentence is close to the mark, that’s what I think.

    No its not delusion. For one thing this season is unpredictable like never before. The likes of Choudhary and snodgrass already give me hope that we are bringing in mentally tough players with ability and skill to out muscle and push the opposition. A decent striker and whoever else might be coming in has got to give us a shout. It might be down to the wire but who cares. A different mentality is what we have needed for years now, that's whats been missing. I also think that some of our players will be glad to have someone guiding them through matches rather than shouldering the responsibility. Furlong has shown me that he has what it takes in this division, he's hungry and busts a gut but its maybe unfair to expect him to do all the work at this stage. I think Furlong will go even further with the right support by his side. Can we do it? Yes. Will we? Who knows. Hope so.
