Got absolutely no time for racism or prejudice in any shape or form but I fancy getting a life time ban from Albion to end the misery of watching them.

This is awful! Folks may think he is useless but that’s not down to the colour of his skin.

    Unacceptable.

He’d still be garbage whatever his colour so that part is irrelevant.

People who use a players colour in these tirades are cretins.

Agree with all the above. Not a Sawyers fan but not because of his colour.
    Totally unacceptable.

Not sure if it can get anymore embarrassing for our club on and off the pitch he isn't good enough for the prem but that has nothing to do with the colour of his skin.

This kind of crap does my head in. Romaine's having a tough enough time as it is this season without having someone throwing racist abuse at him. No time for it.

Sadly, racism has been something that has existed in mankind’s behaviour since humans first managed to communicate between themselves, so I doubt that it will ever be eradicated. I think that the best we can do is to marginalise the perpetrators as much as possible and where football is concerned, exclude them. The internet, though, makes dishing out abuse very easy and I would imagine that those responsible feel that they are beyond being unmasked. The difficulty comes on the borderline stuff, if you want free speech in society then there will always be some that write and say unpleasant stuff; who polices it, who judges when something crosses the line of acceptability? As for this lates abuse directed at Sawyers, I find it particularly sad, this is the club that pioneered the inclusion of black players in British football. To my mind, to racially abuse Romaine Sawyers is als to disrespect the memory of Cyrillic and Laurie.

Nobody deserves to be racially abused as it's disgusting. That said - should every case of racial abuse be country wide news? Oh - he's a Premier Footballer in disguise!

A 17 year old girl who is white was racially abused in our area over the weekend by five lads but this is not hot news. Sadly unlike a footballer she works in a shop part time on the minimum wage and does not earn 30 grand a week and being a young kid most likely does not have broad shoulders to shrug this off!

As for having a tough time - he's useless - not even championship material, so this has nothing to do with the disgusting abuse which happened.
