    Modern day football

I have watched a shed load of football this season and the only problem I can see with the modern game is footballers themselves they are the ones who are Spoiling the game. Going down under every challenge and when they are in there eyes are Fouled they grab the ball to make a point of the foul and most of the time it’s a fair challenge. I would book them for hand ball. It’s hard to watch it really is....well it is for me anyway. They give the referee so much Grief for a nothing challenge. If I was playing and a player went down very easily....I would be saying going down like that again and you will be staying down...end of.

Couldn't agree more. The authorities desperately need to crack down on dissent and cheating. I've always found it totally unacceptable yet it's clearly acceptable behaviour in their eyes.

People use football to raise awareness as we've seen with the racism campaign advertising BLM and the taking if the knee. Why not use football to advertise that cheating is wrong? I think it will be a red letter day when cheats are finally brought to justice and we can start having the game back to how it was intended to be played. Can't happen soon enough in my opinion.

That is very true indeed.....don’t get me wrong Barnsley are no angels in this. I feel Woodrow is always looking for something, yes it’s for the my team but I feel if he stays on his feet he could make more of the situation that he has made for him self.

It just puts me right off of football. The Arsenal v Manchester United game was an awful watch every time plays passes each other they where just falling down. It’s not just it’s a mans game but these players are not doing the game any Favours at all.

Welcome to the board Russ .

The problem as I see it is that if you don't cheat yourself then you are putting yourself at a disadvantage .

There's nothing for the Corinthians in the modern game unfortunately .

That said I'm at a loss many times to see where some of the red cards given out are actually bookable offences never mind a sending off , the games gone soft in my opinion which when you think about it encourages players to go down at the first hint of contact .

If there was more physicality in the game then the players wouldn't go down so much , they'd be no point .

Why thank you very much for your warm welcome animallittle.

I know what you mean and it’s sad really that you have to do such things to get an advantage.

It’s like golf to be honest.....the Elite players do nothing for the rest.

But any how. The game has gone so soft. The screams you hear when they go down it’s so off putting.

But do we really want VAR in the championship i don’t think so goal line yes but so much with VAR.

But something has to be done regarding the diving and cheating I think. Its not a fair game anymore.

I would have taken a penalty yesterday with the aid of VAR.

I know it was as clear as day to us watching but not to the man in charge. For me VAR should used for the 18 yard box and goal line leave everything else as it is. It’s what makes the game so interesting.

But the Purists what it that way.

You could stop it within a week- let the player who has gone down get treatment whilst play continues or make them go off the pitch for 5 minutes to be treated- their own team mates would turn if they were constantly at a disadvantage
