.......of one of the best police/detective dramas on television, Spiral, or to give it the original name, Engrenages. Gritty, down to Earth, great characters and an opportunity to brush up your French! The eighth series ended last night and there will be no more, as was the case for that other great crime drama series, The Bridge, the end of the Saga!

Got to agree. The wife and I have watched all eight series as they came on. Brilliant. All these European dramas are good especially the Nordic ones. The Bridge and The Killing were superb. It's the only time I consider watching BBC so I am paying £157.50 a year to watch the occasional drama. I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my TV Licence along with the thousands of others doing it.
