    European Commission bullies

Ursula von der Leyen who at present is President of the European Commission had a right cheek demanding that they would dictate the import of Covid-19 vaccine into Northern Ireland.
It is not our fault that the two French vaccines backed by the EU had failed to materialise.
    Typical of the French.
Last Friday evening President Macron to deflect that the French vaccine was a failure made the wrong claim that the
AstraZeneca vaccine was “almost ineffective” on people aged over 65.
I hope that the management of Astra Zeneca sue Macron for defamation of their vaccine.
Fortunately Boris Johnston and the rest of his team were prepared to stand up the bully boy tactics of Ms von der Leyen’ and told her to ‘take.a hike’.
It transpires that Ms von der Lyden had made her decision without checking the rules of the Good Friday agreement or speaking to the Irish Prime Minister. Unbelievable even by EU standards.
Eventually Ms von der Leyen backed down and admitted that she had made a mistake.
Thank goodness the U.K. has left the EU otherwise we would have been expected to hand over our Astra Zeneca vaccine because of French incompetence.
    Well Done Boris.
If it happens again Boris should give the European Commission leaders the ‘Harvey Smith’ salute!

More nonsense. EU countries are free to acquire vaccines independent of the EU block negotiation. Germany for example,or Bulgaria are doing just that. Had the UK still been in the EU, the UK would have been free to do the exact deals it has done.

The only difference would be that the article invoked by the EU,albeit temporarily, would not have existed.

The arrogance of the EU is astounding, but not a surprise, it appears that the Third Reich is still alive.

Boris Johnson has killed 130,000 people across the UK from covid alone, thousands more from the impacts of his botched attempts at controlling the virus, and yet there are folk who still sing his praises, unbelievable.

But once again, islay is short on facts and high on hyperbole. NI is supplied with vaccines by the UK not the EU.

The EU took the hump and made a move to stop any EU-manufactured AZ vaccine making its way from the EU into mainland UK via the NI 'backdoor', when it appeared that AZ were renaging on their contract with the EU to favour the UK - so-called vaccine nationalism, which the hard-right British nationalists approve of in buckets.

And don't even get me started on the death toll from tory austerity!!

The UK was still in the transition period when they did their deals, don't tell islay that though, just confuse him. The EU have totally phukked up, by waiting longer to ensure the vaccines actually works, as opposed to the tories who will inject any old ****e into our veins in an effort to get us back to buying sandwiches from Pret on the way to work in a covid-filled office.

    What a lot of nonsense.
It is the two failed French vaccines which the EU were depending on that has plucked them up.
The EU decided to purchase vaccine on behalf of all their member states instead of allowing individual member states to purchase their own vaccine supplies.
Yet more centralised control by the EU leaders and faceless bureaucrats.

Where did I post that Northern Ireland is supplied with vaccines from the EU.
If you want a battle with me regarding politics then that is fine.
However I will give you a warning.
My brother and I forced Alex Salmond to stop using his SNP Scottish Independence Referendum party political broadcasts for the European elections in May 2014.

The two vaccines that only you have heard of? Unlikely. The EU signed a deal with AZ back in September to deliver x amount of vaccine, AZ then claimed production issues meant they could only supply x -y, which was a massive reduction. At the same point, AZ supply to the UK was unrestricted leading to the UK sitting on a mass on spare vaccine they were hoarding for future use.

Have you tories not killed enough people, when is it enough?

You'll also find the EU countries agreed to a joint approach, it wasn't forced on them.
