So it is a loan to buy but obviously dependent on how he settles here , I think that's probably something that's passed us by on here , the player himself may want to test the water here too before committing to coming here permanently .

I think at 20 years of age and with only 18 MLS games behind him that's perfectly understandable .

Americans aren't quite so global thinking as their European or South American counterparts and its a very insular culture over there but none the less if the lad is to have a big future in the game then he's going to have to move to Europe at some stage .

Spuds comments on the Mowatt situation were interesting .

According to Spud the door is still wide open on a new contract having his signature on it .

Again according to Spud , Alex's wants to see evidence of progression at the club , this isn't all about finance totally .

Now normally I'd be sceptical about that but thinking about it normally he'd have gone last month and the fact he's still here does tend to suggest it's not beyond comprehension that he may sign a new deal .

When pinned down on a further offer to Mowatt he did say that further negotiations are on going .

So basically at no point as the final take it or leave it card been played by the club .

I think personally the chances of that contract getting signed are slim and the club may well end up taking a hit here and anything that's going to impact on an already modest budget at this level is something I find concerning .

We will of course see how this ends in due course .

    Just listened to full interview.

A series of soundbites. Honest Dane would make a good politician or snake oil salesman. No wiser abart owt apart from the fact that nobody make a decent bid for our players during January, which we expected anyway due to the pandemic

I don’t think he said that.
IMO he said nobody made a bid that benefited the club.
All players at all clubs are for sale.
Although we are a club that’s been known for giving our players away in the past.
But all our players are for sale - but thing is now, the price has to be right.

Millwall saying they offered over £1M for Mowatt with only 6 months left on his contract and he didn’t go - is a massive statement from these owners.

It could be that Millwall's personal terms weren't enough for Mowatt or he just didn't fancy going there or he's got other plans for the summer, hence not signing a new contract.. Mowatt's decision, not the owners.

"Nobody made a bid that benefitted the club" is just politician's speak for "nobody bid enough".
