    Just what is wrong.......

...... with those in charge of VAR? All the controversy regarding McGuire's penalty appeal yesterday would have been avoided if they had given the obvious offside against him. I just do not understand how they are making such a 'pig's ear' of it. Incidents that appear obvious to all and sundry, but not to those that count, are continually occurring. As has been stated times, VAR is not the problem, but the numpties in charge of it. It's got to the stage that games where VAR is involved are more often than not farcical.

There is a rule that they cited yesterday.

If a player is in an offside position but is penalised, leading to a penalty then it is a penalty as the offside offence doesn't happen until the player in the offside position receives the ball.

    But that is absolutely farcical

Christ almighty, what a load of old sh it. They've totally fkd the simple yet beautiful game of football by overthinking and tinkering.

Off side's off side and a penalty's only a penalty when it's a fkn penalty. This kind of peanut picking through monkey sh it fries my fkn brains.

    That is ludicrous.

We all know that offside has always been called if a pass is being played in the “offside” players direction.......since when has that player had to touch the ball to be offside....never!?

An offside comes into play at the nano second the ball leaves the passing players foot dependent on the intended recipient/s of said pass.

Or has something changed that I don’t understand?

There's a lot changed I don't understand and not just in football.

What’s changed is that the game is now run by cretins. In the past it was run by football people, who may well have made mistakes but they had the game at heart. Now it’s run by ‘suits’ who are only interested in the money, they care **** all for supporters and have sold their souls to VAR. Not only are cretinous knobs ruining the game in this country, FIFA and UEFA are full of them, too.

You’ve hit the nail on the head! In addition the taking the knee is getting more farcical by the week!! It’s actually increasing racist abuse! Why does nobody get this??

Large banners/electric billboards - we are United against racism, s exism etc! For me - supporters singing to Sian Massey to get her t its out is far worse than a rich black player getting an abusive comment on social media!

Why are footballers even on social media apart from 99% of comments being nice to their egos!
