Mick McCarthy Extends His Contract at Cardiff City

Mick McCarthy & his second in command Terry Connor, have extended their contracts at Cardiff City.
When McCarthy took over at Cardiff City, on a end of season deal, Cardiff were 15th in the table, & 13 points adrift of the play-offs.
But since taking over the managers job, he has taken Cardiff on a unbeaten 10 game run, winning 7 & drawing 3 to which the club are challenging to get into the play-off spots.
McCarthy & Connor have signed 2 year extensions to their contracts.

They'd be stupid not to offer him a contract after such a massive impact he's had since taking over. Big gamble from McCarthy though to only take a season end deal in the first place. Then again, he was out of a job.

McCarthy plays an old style, but still an effective style.

His style is based on his own playing career.

A decent keeper, a strong centreback, a busy physical midfielder (Vaulks) and a big and daft centre forward (Moore). Effectively a strong spine running right down the centre of the team

An “ up and at ‘em” style nothing really fancy, no exotic formations

Remember, this is the guy that told Roy Keane to bugger off home
