    I've had respect for him since seeing him in a film on video called "Marvellous". He was the manager of Stoke and he gave a job to a supporter (Nello) Neil Baldwin with 'learning difficulties' as the kit man. It's a sentimental film but true, I recommend watching it.

    Lou has done a lot for people especially since his son committed suicide so very well played to him.

    Terrific little player in his pomp too.

    A few of today’s well paid professionals might do worse than take a leaf out of Macari’s book. I understand though that many do assist charities and do charitable work that is probably not reported on.

    One of my favourite films, even with Gary Lineker in it. Big fan of Lou Macari's work in SoT
