    The problem is '53, that we've been saying this for the previous half a dozen or so games and while I feel that we have put in decent performances the results haven't followed. I sincerely hope that you're right about today. We'll just have to wait and see.

    Think snodgrass would be starting but said has picked up a slight injury in training this week

    I like a manager who knows his best 11 and doesn’t f u c k about with the team to massage his own ego or that of any players.

    I think we used 13-14 players in 1979......didn’t do us too much harm did it!

    In those days you knew that your sub was either Wayne Hughes, Kevin Summerfield or Derek Monaghan.

    We only had one bloke with a bucket and sponge and one trainer as well.

    So much b o l l o x these days!
