Can this season get any worse?

After three seasons virtually free from injury, this season, injuries have come back with a vengeance.

We have had two of our most influential players, Jimenez and Otto out with long term injuries. Boly has missed quite a number of games as well with injury and Covid 19. Podence has also missed a several weeks with problems.

The unfortunate Otto has now had to visit the surgeon again in what could easily be a career ending one.

Now we hear that Neto is out for six months, and is due to go under the knife this week for a serious knee injury. He apparently picked up the injury while on International duty with Portugal.

While yesterday Neves has been diagnosed as having Covid 19.

With our match against Sheffield United on Saturday now put back till 8.15 pm, because of the Royal Funeral, it is time for some of the youngsters to step up to the plate.

A significant number of clubs have been hit by widespread injuries, I don't think we can really claim to be any worse off to be honest. Although this news about Neto is extremely saddening.

As for wishing for this season to be gone and roll on to next, I don't see that it will be any more successful unless fundamental changes are made at the club.

    All IMO of course.
