Can anybody tell me why (Alan Hall)

I had the privilege of playing (pub football) with Alan Hall,no professional manager, coach or getting well payed.Alan could pass a ball long, short, deliver great balls in to the box to OUR players. So why at Rotherham a professional outfit we don't seem to be able to.Alan liked a beer worked long shifts but still performed every week. Why do we not seem to be able.Nothing to do with quality,it should be natural to a professional footballer.Im not clutching at straws any more we are going down,we are a League 1 club at best.Stop having grand ideas TS you have not got the money & that's not a dig it's what it is.

    Yes it's frustrating at times

The speed at which the ball is moved, players finding space and speed of thought may have affected the ability of the person you mention to operate in the professional game . He might have been able to shine as the game was a lot slower at amateur level

That doesn't explain why some pro footballers can't do it though unless they are in the wrong job

What if we unearthed a new Matt Le Tissier, a player that can really pass but has a lower work rate

Would he get in our team?

With our present staff I doubt he would, that’s one of the biggest problems just now at Rotherham.
