Ultimately it's about money isn't it ?

To be honest and this is just my opinion it's time for a change in the middle of the park , I like Alex and he's played his part here and led us well , huge part of the story .

However he's not going to improve too much more , if at all .

He's deliberately let the contract run down , what does that tell us rascal ?

I don't blame him at the age he is , we've had good value out of him and he's replaceable .

I think Val had a bit of influence here because normally he'd have gone in January and we'd have got a fee .

The ownership let that one ride in my opinion because the team were half way up the league and Val had some early pull .

He did say summat along them lines Rasky as I recall. We were mid table at the time and I don't think anyone thought that we could gate crash the top 6 before Christmas. As it turned art we obviously did get into that top 6 and had a great season, so too did Mowatt who was player of the season in my opinion.

If we're going to get established as a top half club then he needs to stay and help us achieve that. However, it's clearly a money thing and his agent has stalled him from putting pen to paper at Oakwell probably hoping for a better deal elsewhere. Why not sign months ago if money wasn't an issue? Ambition is difficult to gauge at this club because we're liable to sell our crown jewels every summer.

Let's look at the facts- He's club captain, first on the team sheet and settled here playing very well. There's obviously better out there and tha can't knock anybody for having ambition but let's face it, he's probably as much in the dark as the fans are towards what the owners intentions are and this is despite finishing 5th.

I expect he'll leave in the summer and good luck to him, he's served us very well in his time here, contributed immensely.

Now is the time to let his intentions be known so the club can either make plans with him or without him. Whatever happens, there's bugga all we can do abart it ennyrooard.

It suits me if he goes as I’ve said in previous post Mowatt isn’t my favourite player. I know I’m in the minority on this and I know he scores the occasional stunner but I’m sure there’s other players at the club or elsewhere who can do as good or even better job.
I would have expected that on Saturday on the biggest game for many years he would have given everything but he was very quiet and ineffective, you could be forgiven for thinking his mind was somewhere else.

Am sure if he was that good someone would av come in for him at say 1.5m, i dont think they did, why? Maybe he's already agreed some where else, bit of a risk though not to sign him if you really want him init. I hope he goes, i do want someone better in that position, and i think we'll get someone its an opportunity for some young un to proof wat they can do, were gradually improving all over the pitch and they'll not be many players who'll forget there time at bfc.

Yeh, when we let matty go, lost 3 league games on trot, i thought were not safe yet, then mattys gone to coventry, very brave to make that call, freed up some wages it was a good decision so there must be some good cummunication frm owners to manager which is very encouraging. Its funny but I'm more relaxed now than I've been all season, am not gutted,av enjoyed it, started posting aswell, a need a break before new season never mind players.😁👍
