Really enjoyed watching Villareal last night ( small town ) and wow didn't they play. At times it seemed they had 15 players on the pitch - they retained possession so well and it was hard to get the ball off them.
One thing I loved last night ( missing from us this year ) - every Villareal player had the desire, passion, fight and determination to win and that was so clear to see. Well deserved!

I didn’t watch it, I don’t have BT Sport (I loathe BT Sport) and I’m not interested in European football anyway. I did have a big smile on my face, though, when I saw that Manure had lost. I don’t like Manchester United, especially their plastic, so-called fans, I love it when they lose. I’d even rather have the Villa win than Manure!

It was a poor final only brought to life by an excellent penalty shoot out. Until DeGhea's miss you couldn't fault the penalty takers. Both keepers had little chance of saving them. United didn't really turn up though.

I thought their defending was superb, the only time it wasn't Rashford missed a sitter.
A few Manchester United fans were in the pub, they weren't happy. Bless.

Villareal are an example of a club that Albion should be looking to match.
Not big in fan numbers terms but constantly punching above their weight and a side nobody looks forward to playing.

That is a very good point Mick and 100% bang on. Villarreal is a small town with a population of 50,000. Even West Bromwich in the town have a population of 77,000.
The team spirit - desire - determination - all players fighting together was a pleasure to watch. Even the fans played their part all passionate in yellow!!

Maybe we do punch above our weight , JP used to say we were a mid table championship side. I remember Sir Gary once comparing us to Preston and how similar we were.
