Ukraine- just seemed happy to be there

When Kane opened England’s account, it was the perfect start. However Ukraine showed no urgency or desire to get back into the game. When 1-0 became 2-0 it really was all over. It was then just a matter of how many Southgate ‘s men would finish up with. In fact it could have been more than the four they ended up with. I began to wonder how , in fact, they , ended up reaching the last 8. But they did ,and you must give them credit for that. It looked to me that they gave England far too much respect throughout, but never looked like doing anything. ( except when Pickford got the jitters) The most important aspect for me, was not the 4 goals they scored, but the fact it was another 90 minutes without conceding. Wednesday night will be far tougher, but I don’t see me boycotting Danish pastries anytime soon !!

You have obviously played football malwayne. Sometimes your tank is dry, the opposition is far superior and you just hope to get through the game without a cricket score being inflicted.

Fair play to England they were ruthless and then rested the "essential" players with substitutions. Even the referee decided to throw the towel in and spare the Ukrainians further punishment, by not playing any added injury time.

Their players and manager/coaches went and spent time with their fans at the end. That was class and their best memory of the match.

I think everyone's agreed that Ukraine were piss poor, we beat nowt really, but we often play piss poor teams, it's nothing new, and we often struggle against them, we even lose to them, Iceland for instance. But we didn't struggle against Ukraine, we didn't lose to them, we blew them away, so on that basis I reckon this is an exceptional, outstanding England team, I've got the feeling in my water that they could even win it.

That was very unusual but I thought well done to the ref actually. We were 4-0 up and there was no need for stoppage time, nice one ref.
They/Ukraine looked good against Holland in the first group game, and then they scraped through when Sweden clearly gave it up at the end of extra time.
