O/T Grandaughter Attacked by a Dog While Walking her Own Dog

Yesterday my Grandaughter & her mother were walking their dogs in Normanton,
    where they live.
A black labrador came to attack Grandaughters dog, so she picked her own dog up,
& turned away from the dog, the black labrador bit her taking a right chunk out of her
arm, which I have seen pictures of.
Grandaughter went to hospital for treatment, they have cleaned the wound, but due
to the large piece bit out of her arm, she will need a operation.
Grandaughter had to be at the hospital this morning for 7.30 for the operation.

The incident reported to the police, who contacted the dog wardens, she did not see
anyone walking with the black labrador.
Having had labradors in the past, I have never found them vicious.

My Grandaughter is 22 years of age, this her second scrape with danger, she was in
the crowd at the Manchester arena bombing with her mother, thankfully they both
    came out of that unscathed.

All the best to your granddaughter. I’ve got two labs and both are nice dogs but I never forget that they have the potential to be dangerous.

Best wishes to your granddaughter Eric

The dog needs putting down though because it’ll do it again

Granddaughter out of surgery, everything went well.

Has Millertop says the dog needs putting to sleep, its tasted blood now, it could
be a child next time, with more serious injuries.

Labradors are generally very placid dogs, but obviously they can grow to be big animals, and as such there's always a small chance one could be dangerous..
Hope she makes a full recovery.

    hope she gets well soon.
No dogs are placid as someone said.
my dog appears placid, until something pisses him off.
never let a dog off a leash, unless you 100% know he instantly heels when ordered.

ELK so sorry to hear of this. Trust your Granddaughter makes a speedy recovery.

Wife and Daughter both petrified of dogs but I blame the Wife for the Daughters fear of them. Then again the Wife has been bit four times by dogs, I told her she’s got that face 😀

Thing is with the wife, she sees a dog and just stares it out which, upsets the dog wondering wtf is she staring at do they go into a protective and sometimes retaliating mode.

Never ever stare a dog out they will react to it.
