How the mighty fall - Barcelona, a club in absolute crisis!

Gotta ditch 200m Euros off the wage bill before they can register Augero, Memphis & re-register Messi to reach the maximum wage threshold.

    1 Billion in debt.

Players caught up in a racist sh!te storm with their Japanese comments whilst on tour in 2019 & also this week the players involved put out pathetic statements unfitting of the modern social climate.

It is not looking good for one of the games great clubs. I'm sure they will get special treatment and preferential treatment due to their value to the fragile financial structure of La Liga.

However it's again a time for the game to change.

To leave the legacy of the thousands of Catalunya men, woman and children for whom the club is a symbol of their independence and identity in the hands of power hungry egotists is unacceptable.

Our woes are a microcosm of those going on at Barcelona

However we are once again reminded that our great game, our committees who built them with the blood sweat and tears; the graves of the hardworking men & women in the Shipyards, Mines and every strata of local society have, over time had their birth right stolen from them.

A club like Newcastle, the cathedral on the hill, is a symbol of Geordie pride. How it has been *******ised and humiliated these last 14 odd years in a national tragedy, a genuine disgrace. Yet all those residing several hundred miles to the south, or just across the river did nothing but mock and deride us; enjoying every moment of our degradation.

    Shame on them!

Tribalism of the game a side the bigger picture is clear, without the fans, the communities of the generations who built the famous reputation of historic clubs there is no 'Brand', there is no 'Value' to the sport.

What is left is just 11 men of playing a child's game in a park.

    Time for change.

Let's hope the Government's review committee is not toothless and genuinely rings in the changes before all is lost. As we are holding on by our finger nails at this point.

pretty much the same as Madrid, and theres your reason why Perez is pushing the euro super league. English clubs just wanted the extra dosh every season. The Spanish clubs needed the ESL just to stay afloat, living above their means for decades. They would have been folded years ago if it wasnt for the cut they get in the players sponsorship deals

You see there in lies the rub.

Messi brings in 31% of Barcelona total revenue.

So if he leaves the club's already destroyed 'off field' revenue stream, due to losing all their Football Tourism money, during Covid, their revenue will be greater reduced impacting their ability to make payments off their debt & still function, meet fair play regulations.

Let's see how it all shakes out.

His wages are north of £100 million a year. Pandemic means tourism will be ducked even if he stays.

Only answer is to let him leave

Their revenue last year was 840.8m Euro so 31% of that is 260.65m Euro - so he generates his own salary + 160.65m Euro extra.

And he got his trophy I see. I guess that is the south american equivalent of Ronaldo winning the Euros with Portugal then - is that a fair statement TT?

    You’d know better 🙂
